About The Photographer

My name is Caron Rich and I am a professional portrait photographer located in Lavonia, Georgia. I specialize in photographing children and families in both studio and location settings. I received my degree in photography in 2000, but my love for photography began long before.

My parents gave me my first camera when I was about eight years old. As a young girl I found myself always looking for someone or something to photograph. I have always loved children and animals and discovered early on that the personality and character they possess deem them perfect subjects.

As I entered college, I was uncertain about my future. I decided to pursue a degree in early childhood education. Teaching was a job that I thought I would enjoy because… well… it involves children. However, doubt continued to circle in my head. One thing I knew for sure was that someday I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom and have a family of my own. I hated to begin a profession that I knew I would give up once we started a family. A good friend gave me some advice that completely changed my career direction. She told me "you need to find something that you love doing. Pick something that's practical for a stay-at-home mom and then figure out a way to make money at it. If you love what you do... work is not work at all!" This advice completely changed my direction. I knew that I loved photography and what better job for a mom to have? I decided to change colleges and work towards a degree in commercial photography.

My friend was right...I love what I do! I was absolutely the best decision for me... and for my family! My husband Michael and I have been married for eight years now and we have a 4 year old daughter Allison and a son Wyatt who was born in January 2007. And yes... the photography studio sure comes in handy with them!

My mission is to help you capture every stage of your child's life through beautiful portraits and preserve the precious moments that you and your child share. My goal it to provide you with natural, elegant photography that reflects and fits your style and the way your family celebrates life.
